About the Role

As a Software Engineer at Iono, you'll build the core system software enabling real-time control, perception, and coordination across our robotic platforms. This role bridges embedded systems with higher-level control architectures.

Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain control firmware and middleware for humanoid robots.

  • Optimize software for real-time performance on embedded systems.

  • Integrate sensors, actuators, and hardware abstraction layers.

  • Implement safety, diagnostics, and self-check protocols.

  • Work with AI and mechanical teams to build a cohesive platform


Requirements:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Robotics, or related field.

  • Proficiency in C++ (modern standards), Python.

  • Experience with ROS/ROS2 and real-time systems.

  • Familiarity with embedded systems and hardware interfaces (e.g., CAN, SPI).

  • Strong debugging and systems integration skills.

According to the Austrian Equal Treatment Act, we are legally required to state the minimum gross monthly salary for this position, which is € 3.724.

Your actual starting salary will be based on your qualifications and relevant professional experience. We are open to offering a market-based overpayment.
